Wellington Horowhenua Showjumping & Showhunter Championships

Full truck to Foxton for the Wellington Horowhenua Showjumping & Show hunter Championships.  Great day Saturday but extremely wet on Sunday. Don't seem to have any photos/videos of Bella this weekend.

Jasper jumped well in the 1.20 but Sally fell from him at the B part of the last double. They were 6th in the mini prix.

Blondie jumped in the show hunters this weekend.

Gem was 7th in the 90cm, won the 95cm class on the Sunday

Ellie was 6th in the 90cm, 5th in 1m & 5th in the 1.05

Sunny jumped well in the show hunters on Saturday but did not cope with the torrential rain on Sunday.

Everyone on board for the CHB A&P Show this weekend. Jasper had his second start in a Grand Prix. Jumped amazing. Photos or video of everyone except Blondie who I missed today.

Jasper's Grand Prix round, drew number 1 & finished with 12 faults, 3 rails; one unlucky & the other 2 were rider error.

Gem was 2nd in the 90cm.

Sunny picked up a 2nd & two 4th placings in the Cat A Show hunters

Bella picked up a 2nd in the 70cm Cat B Show hunter and a 1st equal for a clear round in the 70cm

Ellie jumped in the Liddy Memorial 1m with just 4 faults and 4 faults in the 90cm.

Manawatu A&P Show

Nice relaxing weekend with early finishes. Covid-19 had hit the committee of the Manawatu A&P so they decided not to hold any of the showjumping series classes so horse entries in particular were very low. Pony entries held their own and there were some very good combinations entered.

Jasper came to the party again this weekend after 2 weeks of silly antics! He placed 2nd in the 1:10 AM5 & was 4th in the 1:10 championship.

Gem was again a star. We entered her in the 1:10 championship and she did a double clear to place 6th and she placed 6th in the 1.05 class.

Those showhunter classes were as frustrating as ever. Korah & Bella did a great round in the 60cm but was beaten by ponies who had refusals. They did place 4th in the 70cm showhunter. In the showjumping they had an oops at the first fence and then cantered round clear  on the Saturday & on Sunday went clear in the 70cm A2 for a 7th placing.

We were super stoked for Bayly & Ellie who placed 2nd in the 1m A2 on Sunday after having a Saturday that was not one to report on.

Bayly & Blondie jumped 80 & 90cm but with no placings. Not sure that Blondie really enjoys jumping on the crusher lime.

Carterton A&P Show

Unfortunately Korah & Bayly didn't arrive at the show until Saturday night to compete on Sunday but Sally competed on both days with Gem & Jasper. Was a wet day Saturday but fine on Sunday.

Jasper was very naughty in the gateway of Ring 1 in the 1:10 class on Saturday morning & then had a couple of rails in the same ring in the Mini Prix. Was way better behaved on Sunday, having just a rail in the first round of the 1:10 class. Only the 3rd show, since we have owned Jasper, that he has come home from an event without a ribbon.

Blondie was great again this weekend. She was 6th in the 75cm class & had 4 faults in the 85cm.

Gem won a 90cm class, and was 2nd in a 1m class and 2nd in the 95cm on Sunday.

Ellie was 5th in the 95cm & had 4 faults in the jump off in the 1m class on Sunday

Korah rode Bella in the 75cm for a clear first round & an unfortunate fall in the jump off.

Cool Off For Blondie

Blondie got a hose down after competing today from (2 year old) Fern.
