Pongaroa Sports

Pongaroa sports  for Briggs, Toot and Sunny this weekend. Sally decided it will be great for Briggs to go and have a gallop round and he seemed to enjoy it!

Fern had a great morning on Sunny, winning the best rider and the little jump. In the afternoon they did the ponies beginner jump, winning that also.

Briggs wasn't so sure in the first round, the maiden round the ring, but he was third in the open and 2nd in the open leaping. Toot beat him both times.

Toot was great. Second in the open round the ring and first in the open leaping.

Sally also picked up the ride on Monkey. Thank you Rachel Stephenson for entrusting Monkey with Sal. Neither were too sure in the first class, the Maiden round the ring but then got better and better!

Sally enjoyed competing in a few games with Monkey as well. Been a long time since Sal did games!

Levin AI & P Show

All onboard again this weekend. Sunny came and did the parade and the pleasure classes where she picked up a ribbon in the best trotting pony.

Bayly rode Max in her first Junior Rider class this weekend and although they had a few rails they looked confident and relaxed. Max did a lot of jumping over the weekend going in both the 1:10, 1:15 classes and did the 1:05 Table C class.

Tommy did the 1m and 1:05 class. Had a very unlucky rail in the 1:05.

Potter, who is always a dick at Levin with the crowd being so close and everything else that goes on at an A&P show had 4 faults in both of his classes and was clear in the 1:05 Table C open class.

Jasper, uncharacteristically had a stop at the wall in both of the jump offs in his two classes and then Korah had a little bit of trouble getting him up near the crowd in ring 1 for the 1:05 Table C class but getting him there.

Sunny was 2nd in the best trotting pony.

Briggs was a pratt all weekend end apart from the 1m class speed class which he won!

Toot did his first Junior rider and jumped in the 1:15 and the Table C 1:05 classes.

Maggie was her consistent self. She did the Junior Rider, 1:15 and 1:20 class for just 2 rails in each class.

Central & Southern Hawkes Bay Show Jumping World Cup Show

Everyone on board. Horses and jockey's had not been out competing since Feilding in early December. Pretty happy with their performances. The number 4 seemed to be our number; either 4th place or 4 faults.

Tommy jumped 1m and 1:05 over the weekend.

Max jumped 1:10 and 1:15 over the weekend. Very pleased with how well he and Bayly are going.

Jasper picked up two 4th placings in the 1m and the 1:05. Korah is beginning to ride him really well especially when there is a little more pace in their rhythm.

Potter was great. He picked up two 6th placings in the 1:10 and in the 1:15 mini prix.

Toot had a 4 fault weekend and stepped up to 1:15 class on Friday. He was good.

Maggie was super brave. She jumped in the premiere Junior Rider class even though Sally wasn't sure she wanted to started even as she entered the ring. Sally gave Maggie a super ride and Maggie was super brave although taking a few rails. Previously she had jumped in the junior rider at Masterton (Labour weekend) and CHB show.

Briggs jumped clean but had a couple of refusals throughout the weekend. He jumped a super clear round in the first phase of  the 1:15. In the jump off He jumped Sally out the saddle a bit with a big jump which gave him a bit of a fright.

Sunny jumped in the Answer Back Cup for a 6th placing. She was super and Fern was very excited.
