Feilding IA&P Show

Just the Saturday for us in Feilding at the North Island Championships. A pretty good day had.

Briggs jumped a super round in the 1:10 going clear but with so many in it and it not being an instant jump off he lost concentration and didn't complete the jump off. He had a rail in the 2nd phase of the 1m class.

Toot had 4 faults in the 1:10 but jumped super.

Maggie is carrying a bit of a back injury and had a rail in the 1:10m  and a rail in the jump off of the 1m class.

Max was great today, jumped clean but had a stop at the first piece of fill in the 1:10. Super stoked with him today.

Tommy was 5th in the 90cm and had 8 faults (2 rails) in the 1m.

Potter was good having only one class and a rail in the jump off.

Jasper won the 1m class today.

Full load today. Tommy and Sunny both joining the team for their first competitive outing.

Tommy was 5th in the 90cm Class.

Max was good. Double clear in the 1m class and 2 rails in the 1:10.

Briggs was really good placing 2nd in the 1m and the 1:10m classes.

Briggs 1m jump off

Toot had one rail in the 1:10.

Maggie had a rail and a slid into the B of the double in the 1:20 class but still jumped super.

Jasper was good in the 90cm and the 1m class.

Potter was 2nd in the 1:10 mini prix jumping double clear, no video today.

Sunny was very well behaved in the kindy ring.

Central Hawkes Bay Show

Toot had a rail in the 1m A2.

Maggie had the last rail in the 1:10. She jumped super!

Took a couple of attempts to get Briggs going in the 1:10m and then he was good, just adding a rail to his score.

Max was good in the 1:10, having just 2 rails.

Jasper was good in the 90cm but this was a speed class and the little ponies sped round crazy like. In the 1m Korah had some saddle issues starting and had the first rail, Jasper was good.

Potter was clear in the 90cm but not nearly quick enough. Went on to win the Libby Memorial in ring 1.

Masterton Jumping Show

Without even a practice day under our belts we headed to Masterton just for the day for the Monday of competition. Ponies were amazing considering Korah had only been on their backs a handful of times. Both Jasper and Poter have spent most of the pre season on the lead.

Maggie jumped super in the Junior Rider. Just one rail for 4 faults to finish 7th (just outside the ribbons).

Potter was 3rd in the 90cm and Jasper was 4th and then Jasper won the 1m. Potter had the first rail in the 1m.

Max had 4 faults (a rail) in the 90cm, his only start.

Toot had two rails in the 1m.

No video of Briggs this weekend. Weather turned nasty but he was 4th in the 1m class.

Horse of the Year

Big week for jockey's and equines as we started on Monday and finished on Sunday. We competed in 1:05 classes through to 1:20 classes and we were 3 of the 4 members that made up the HBPC team that finished 2nd!

Jasper had 4 faults in the 1:10 on Tuesday that would have seen him finish 4th. He was very poor on Wednesday in the 1:15 having 4 rails in the speed class but rectified himself on Thursday for 2nd in the 1:20 Pony Speed Champ! He had Friday off as a rest day and then had just 4 faults in the 1:15 champ on Saturday.

Potter was a little off colour all week but still jumped well. On Monday Potter had 4 faults in the 1:05, had an uncharacteristic 3 rails in the 1:10 on Tuesday, he jumped clear in the Equitation class on Wednesday but Korah had him going too slow and in the 1:05 he had one rail. Potter had Thursday and Friday off.  In the Pony Club teams event on Saturday he had 4 faults in the first round and then clear in the second round. He was clear in the 1:05 speed class on Sunday for 5th.

Potter 5th in the 1:05 Speed class

Toot jumped well in his three classes. Finished 17th on Monday in the 1:10 speed class (qualified for the 1:10 Champ). He had 1 rail in the 1:10 on Tuesday and then a very unlucky rail in the 1:10 champ on Thursday.

Maggie had all the goods on Saturday for the pony club team recording 2 clear rounds to help the team secure 2nd place. She was clear on Monday for at 22nd place (just outside the qualifying mark). She had 4 faults on Tuesday in the 1:10, slack on Wednesday in the 1:15 having 3 rails, better on Friday with 8 faults and then double clear on Saturday at both 1:10 and 1:15 in the pony club teams event. Maggie finished with 8 faults in the 1:15 class on Sunday.

Max was naughty on Monday. We think the atmosphere was just too much for him on the first day in Ring 1. He was much better on Tuesday and Wednesday and then carried a very nervous Bayly round for 2 12 fault rounds in the Pony Club teams event on Saturday. Very pleased with him. Only his 2nd show with Bayly jumping 1:10.

Pony Club Teams Event: Potter 8 faults at 1:05 clear in second round at 1:10
Maggie clear at 1:10 and clear in second round at 1:15
Max 12 faults in 1:10, 12 faults in second round at 1:15

Masterton Showjumping

Great weather & great weekend for the ponies this weekend. Jasper, Potter and Briggs really came to the party this weekend.

Jasper won 2 of his 3 classes and 4th in the other with Korah. He won the 1:20 with a clear jump off and the 1:15 with the only clear round.

Briggs jumped three double clear rounds this weekend. He was 7th in the 1:05 and the 1:10 on Saturday and 4th in the 1:10 on Sunday.

Maggie was consistently good again, jumping 1:15 on Saturday.  She was 7th on Sunday in the 1:20.

Toot had an unusually off weekend. Sally fell from him on Saturday and on Sunday he had two rails.

Bayly was very brave on Max having her first start at 1:10 on him after falling off him in the 1:05 on Saturday. He had 8 faults on Saturday and just 4 faults on Sunday.

Potter was good. He had 4 faults in the 1:10 speed class and won the 1m class on Saturday and 5th in the 1:10 on Sunday after a stop in the double.
