Taranaki Jumping show - North Island Champs

Another fantastic weekend! All ponies and riders brought home ribbons this weekend. Not sure how you comment on the weather - definitely four seasons in one weekend! Went from pouring rain Friday morning to getting sunburnt in the afternoon, to freezing cold on Saturday and a nice tee-shirt day Sunday.

Jasper jumped in the 1:15 in ring one on the Friday morning for 4 faults in the 2nd phase to finish 4th. Had 3 rails in the 1:20 on Saturday morning & won the North Island mini prix on Sunday. Sally was stoked as there was a sponsored cover to accompany the win. 

As usual it was very much a team effort!

Sunny was very naughty on Friday in the practice arena, bucking Korah off twice! She settled and jumped the showjumping 70cm & on Saturday picking up 2 4ths in the show hunter classes. 

 

Blondie picked up a 2nd in the 70cm and jumped consistently in the 70 & 80cm classes for the rest of the show

Gem was very consistent all weekend. She was 3rd in the 1:05 on Saturday and 2nd in the 1m Championship on Sunday. Gem has such a great attitude. Korah enjoys riding her when the need arises

 also. 

Tommy picked up a 4th in the 90cm horse on Friday and then went consistently well all weekend in the 90 & 1m horse classes over some technically challenging courses. The rain on Friday morning didn't deter Bayly & Tommy too much. It was very wet!

Bella was a star once again. She picked up a fourth in the 70cm & then on Sunday her & Korah jumped their first 80cm course.

Levin A&P Show

Another great weekend. Again we had to leave Ellie at home. She is still lame, although very slowly coming right. No show hunters for us this weekend, all ponies show jumped.

Sunny jumped in the 60cm, for a third, & did a double clear in the 70cm (first show jump course at 70cm).

Bella jumped double clear in the 60cm & the 70cm. She found the ground a little slippery in the 60cm but was much better in the 70cm.

Blondie stepped up & jumped 90 & 95cm this weekend. She picked up a 2nd in the 80cm. 

Tommy went super for Bayly this weekend. He was 2nd in the 80cm & 3rd in the 90cm

Gem was as consistent as ever. Three classes for two 2nd's (90cm, 1m) & a 5th (1:05).

Wow! Jasper was a star. He won the 1:15 and then went on to win the Grand Prix on Sunday (with 4 faults in the first round). Sally was stoked with him. 

Jasper won the Grand Prix, Hollie Fallon was 2nd with Buzzie Bees Max & Molly Presling was 3rd with Cee Cee.

Central & Southern Hawkes Bay Showjumping & Showhunter Championships

With this being a local show it was a very busy & big three days. Ponies jumped well having not been out since the Taupo Classic in the middle of December. Bayly rode Tommy (Mikayla's horse this weekend as Ellie was lame)

Blondie jumped super. Had 4 faults in the first 70cm and then went on to produced 4 clear rounds at 70 & 80cm.

Tommy (The Prospector) went amazing for Bayly. After having to retire at fence 8 on Friday because the girth straps on the saddle broke, Tommy went on to have 4 faults in the 90cm & 4 faults in the 95cm jump off. Bayly rode him amazing for their first show together. 

Sunny won the 60cm introductory showhunter, 4th in the HOYQ 70cm, 5th in the High Points and just had 4 faults in the 60cm showjumping.

Bella was a star. She jumped in the Under 12 Equitation class & the 70cm introductory showhunter classes and then went on to go produce 3 clear rounds in the showjumping jumping 60 & 70cm.

Gem jumped really well but could not produce a double clear. She jumped a 4 fault round in the 1st round on Friday & had 4 faults in the jump off in the 1:05. Gem was 6th in the 1m on Saturday with 4 faults in the jump off and 2nd in the 1:05 on Sunday with 8 faults in the jump off. 

Jasper had a mixed bag. He had a rail in the 1:15 & was 5th in the 1:10 (misbehaved in the jump off). On Saturday he had a rail in the 1:10 & then jumped super to place 2nd in the 1:20 speed class. On Sunday he had 8 faults in the mini prix.
