Taihape Jumping Show

After getting covered yards because Briggs pushed over the temporary yards we had a reasonably good show. Everyone else was consistent.

Jasper won the 1m class, was second in the 1:10 and 4th in the mini prix.

Potter ended up competing in the 90cm, finishing both courses. We felt that he and Korah needed to build confidence after he refused to finish the 1m height class.

Lulu was good. Coming back from injury; she got caught in the fence before Dannevirke A&P, she did the 1:10 on Saturday for 8 faults (2 rails) and the first rail on Sunday in the 1:15.

Max was so good again. He had 8 faults (2 rails) in the 1:20 over a decent course and although had 5 rails in the Junior Rider on Sunday he was good. This class would have been 1:20-1:25 in height; highest either Bayly and Max had jumped!

Briggs had a much improved show on Dannevirke. He had one stop in the 1:10 in ring one on Saturday and although he had 2 stops on Sunday I think Sally held him up a bit instead on letting him get going.

Wallingford Sports

Weather was dodgy but we still headed out to Wallingford. Track was very wet getting in and we had to be towed in. Kindy ring waited while we got towed in and was a good girl. She then was really good in both 50cm showjumping and show hunter jumps (Unfortunately we didn't get any videos).

Was a long wait for the girls for the 1m class. Korah attempted the wrong jump, and Jasper stopped anyway; we joked about him being able to count and knew not to jump it. He finished the rest of the course faultless.

Max was double clear but not fast enough for a ribbon.

Briggs was double clear and took the win.

Got out without having to be towed.

Elsthorpe Sports

Just Jasper and Sunny with Korah and Fern today. Max had a tender cover rub and Sally in Christchurch at Ki o Rahi nationals.

Sunny did the kindy ring and two super showjumping rounds - 40cm and 50cm.

Jasper was good picking up 3rd in the 1m and 3rd in the 1:10 with one stop.

Cartown Kiwi Super Classic

A mixed bag at Feilding for the new Kiwi Super Classic show. We hadn't been anywhere since Waipukurau sports in November so probably to be expected. Sally fell from Lulu on Friday in the 1:20 and Briggs decided that the 3rd double in the 1:10 was one to many. Max was consistently good all weekend as was Jasper for Korah but Potter was in a terrible mood and decided that he should have stayed at home.

Jasper had an uncharacteristic stop in the 1m qualifier on Friday but still qualified for the final on Saturday where he put in 2 super rounds in the 1:10 to finish faultless and place 2nd. On Sunday he continued his good form and was 2nd in the 1:10 again.

Sunny did the training round on Friday for a second place and the practice round on Saturday. She was very good.

Max was good all weekend, just 4 faults in the 1:10 classes. Very unlucky on Sunday with his rail.

Potter was very uncharacteristically poor at Feilding, not wanting to go at all.

Although Sally fell from Lulu on Friday, (no class Saturday), she was good on Sunday in the 1:20, having the first and last rail and one in the middle.

On Saturday and Sunday Briggs was good. A rail and a stop on Saturday in the 1:05 qualifier, preventing him from qualifying for Sunday's class but jumped clear in the 1:10 on Sunday. Sal uncharacteristically got lost in the jump off to incur 4 faults and 4 time faults but finished 3rd.

Waipukurau Waipawa Sports

Sunny on board today for the kindy ring and encouragement ring but no Briggs. He has had the weekend off from the hard ground.

Sunny won the points prize in the unled kindy ring and then did the 50cm encouragement jump. Needed two goes as this because she was naughty in the first round, bucking Fern off. Much better in the 2nd round.

Jasper won both the 1m class and the 1:10 mini prix today. He was very good.

Korah had a bit of a whoopsie at the practice jump which rattled her rhythm a little. Potter jumped well, just having a little bit of trouble at the treble, finished well.

Max had the last rail in the jump off of the 1m and 4 faults in the  1:10.

Lulu had 2 rails in the 1:20 but jumped well.

CHB A&P Show

Very late start  to the season for us this season with Korah being involved in Secondary School Netball Championships and Sally being involved in Ki o Rahi Secondary School Nationals. The spring has also been terrible - lots of wind and rain, making it difficult to get the equines fit and ready to jump.

Briggs jumped well with just 4 faults (a stop) in the 1:10.

Lulu jumped well; 4 faults in the 1:10 and 4 faults in the 1:20.

Max was a little difficult to manage on the group but jumped well. He had 4 faults in the 90cm and double clear in the 1m.

Jasper jumped a double clear in the 90cm and was 3rd in the 1m Liddy Memorial.

Poter jumped a double clear in the 90cm and was 4th in the 1m Liddy Memorial.

CHB Gymkana

While the girls had a weekend off and everyone else went to the Mangatainoka Truck Show, Fern, Nanny and I went to the CHB Gymkana where Sunny was a very good girl.
